After the encounter with Bella Swan at the library, Edward had to get away; he needed to get away. As much as it was going to kill him to be a part from his family, he just had to do it. When he got home from the library, he didn't speak much to his family, barely said a word. Edward just rushed up to his room, grabbing clothes and rushed back outside, throwing the backpack over his shoulders and took off in a sprint. He wasn't going to stop until he was back in Alaska, until he reached the Denali clan.
Upon arriving there, Edward asked their permission to stay there for a few days, he only told them that he needed to clear his mind and thoughts. Luckily, they were happy to have at least one of the Cullens back in their home. Edward thanked them greatly and promised to not be such a burden in their life.
After a couple days, Edward was finding it hard to actually clear his mind. Everything, no matter what it was made him think back to Bella Swan. Just now, as he laid here on his back in the cold snow, staring up at the night sky, the image and thought of the human girl ran through his mind. He'd been hunting a lot as well, feeding to the point of blotation at times. The girls scent was forever embedded in his brain and he couldn't get it to go away, anytime something made him think of that human, her scent would fill his mind and cause the venom to burn in his throat.
Edward let out a small sigh, still trying to figure out why this girl drew him in like she did. And the most frustrating one of all, why he couldn't hear her mind. Was there something wrong with him? Or was it all this human's fault?

(Hope this is ok!)
Maria was a long way from home. It bothered her to be out in the day light like this, even if the nomads told her it was allowed up here since the sun didn't hit your skin. It was a strange place this far north but she had was up here for a reason. After losing control of her grounds (again) and her army distoryed (again) they had chased her out of Texas. She would be back soon. Give them a few weeks to settle in, and she would head back down south, and start rebuilding her army and take back her city.
A sent in the wind made her pause in her walking. Another vampire. Male, possibly. Maria turned and flowed the sent slowly, not wanting to walk into anything she could not get her self out of alive.

Laying there in the snow, staring up at the night time sky, Edward was pulled away from his thoughts of the human girl and laid there perfectly still as he could hear someone approaching, slowly. He caught the scent, a vampire..though, it was a bit vaguely familiar in one way. Edward felt his eyes brows go together as he was a little confused why the scent seemed a little familiar to him where have i smelt it before.. he wondered and sighed quietly.
Edward stood up slowly and turned in the direction of the scent and stared off into the distances, his golden topaz eyes scanned the area around him and the scent of human blood was lingering on the vampire as well. The vampire boy stood his ground though, the Denali coven were friends to his family and he'd be sure to protect them and their territory while here.
As his eyes scanned once more around him he decided to speak up "Who's there?" he asked quietly, knowing full well the other would be able to hear him.

(I will put her thoughts in italic, so if he needs to he can read her mind.)
Maria walked carefully closer. When she heard him speak she answered in the same quite voice, knowing he too would hear her. "A traveler, new to these parts." She still could not see him. She was not yet clear of the thick mass of trees, but she could tell there was a large clearing ahead.
When she did step into the clearing her eyes found him at once. Even from a distance she could see his oddly colored eyes. What is this? Golden? Oh odd. I've heard rumors of eyes like these. Vampires who don't like blood. Rumors are it makes them weak and human loving. I wonder of it's true. Still standing far away she debated walking closer, not wanting to cause him to get territorial. "Do you have a name?"

Edward stayed standing where he was, keeping his eyes in the direction the voice came from when she spoke out to him. Though this wasn't his land, they were friends to his family and he would protect them an their land if it came down to it. When her thoughts entered into his mind, he raised an eyebrow as she came more into the clearing and he could see her crimson eyes shining before him. The vampire boy couldn't stop himself from answering her thoughts "We are civilized enough to live among the humans and keep them at peace. We do not harm them. We are not monsters." he said a bit harshly at the last words.
The guy hated to even think of himself as a monster, a small part of him wished that Bella Swan didn't see him as that but another small part of him did want her to see him as a monster, for her to react like a normal a human and would just completely stay away from him when ever he did return back to Forks. Although he heard her question of what his name is, he saw no reason for this girl to know it.

Maria raised en eye brown at his little boy rant. "Well, well. A knight in shining armor have we?" She asked sounding amused in her voice that was oddly both high pitched and musical like very vampires, as well as an octave lower, making her voice deep for a vampire. "I merely asked your name. I am touring these parts not hunting young one. There is no need to fret for any of your pet humans' lives."
Maria walked slowly closer. Faster then a human but slow for a vampire. She stopped 12 feet away with an amused smile on her timeless face. "I am called Maria. I am traveling north, touring some before going back home. You do no need to fear little me. I assure you, I mean no harm to you or yours. Do you have name, or shall I make one up for you?"

Edward kept his stance where he was at, glaring off towards the female vampire before him. He ignored her little comment of the humans being his little pets, he didn't see any of the humans that way and he surely never would think of any of them as that either "Be sure you stick with touring and nothing more. These lands have already been claimed by the Denali Coven." he warned her.
When she moved closer to him, he still kept his eyes on her, not daring to let then wander away from her for even a second. Nonetheless, being the gentleman that he decided to tell her his name "I'm Edward." he told her in a monotone voice "I could say it's a pleasure to meet you, but I'm sorry to say it isn't." he told her, once more in the monotone. Edward thought of Bella once more at the thought of this female vampire possibly heading towards Forks, it made him cringe mentally at the image that played in his head and decided to warn the female "If you decide to tour anywhere in Washington, be sure to not harm any of the humans there." he warned her sternly "My family claims land there and we like to keep things peaceful there."

Maria had never meet such rudeness in all her years. "Really now." She almost hissed out, "I have done nothing to cause this anger." Had they been in Texas she would have built an army and had him killed. "I do not plan to stay here long, young Edward, I am only traveling. As I said before." She paused for a moment staring at him. "You seem defensive of these lands and your home lands. More so then one would think." Had he just been causal Maria would have gotten bored and moved on quickly. His reactions however, made more questions arise. Hmmm

Edward kept the hard glare to his face as he looked towards the female vampire "Be sure you stick with only traveling." he told her sternly. The vampire would feel horrible if he knew of this one going on and attacking humans, especially in Forks. Edward almost shuddered at the thought that went through his head, but he kept himself calm and pushed the thoughts away "And as I said before, we like to stay civilized with the humans here and in Washington." he told her "And in the lands that we claim in Washington, we have a peace treaty with a pack of wolves that have a reservation there." he admitted to the female vampire "So killing on their land or our own, would not be wise."
