It was one of those rare days within La Push and Forks of Washington, which meant the sun was out and though some would never consider it warm, to Jess, it was always warm and the sun just made it better. So here the girl was, jogging her way off towards the beach in running shoes, jersey shorts and a hoodie, under those were a two piece bikini that was just a simple black color and nothing more special about it.
When she reached the beach, she grinned as she slipped off the shoes, deciding that wearing socks with them today would of been just a waste really; she stripped out of the hoodie and shorts and tossed them off to the side. The grin stayed plastered to her face as she ran off into the water and when Jess was in deep enough, she dove down into the water, feeling the coldness of it against her very warm skin.
To those that were just were humans, they'd probably think something was very wrong with Jess, but to her, this was something normal; her body was way above the natural temperature a human's body would be, thus causing her to be warmer than she really needed to be. Plus, to her, the cold water of the beach didn't feel as cold as it would probably feel to any other human.
Finally after a moment of being under the water, Jess submerged to the surface and the grin still stayed in place, as she floated on her back, wadding there in the water and stared up at the bright sun high in the sky.

Leo thought that it was a nice day for running. He put on a pair of black windbreaker pants, a black muscle shirt that fit his upper body nicely, and a strap on his shoulder. He inserted his I-Pod into it and put the ear buds into his ears. He strapped on his black and red running shoes and started to stretch. Today his hair was bright orange. To humans, the weather was chilly but otherwise sunny. To lycans, the weather wasn't too bad to go out and do activities. And today just seemed like a good day for a run. No school, off from work, and no homework.
He turned on his I-Pod and the first track that started playing was "Miracle" by Cascada. Not too bad to start off the run with. He did some stretches and jogged down his driveway. He headed down the road and then off to the beach. He started running down the beach sidewalk when he was strickened by something. He looked off to the water and saw someone swimming in it.
He continued to run in place as he squinted his eyes to see who was swimming. The smell of the overall area was far to stained by the smell of sea salt so he couldn't tell if he had known the person or not. By now, Leo was already getting sweaty from his run. He stopped where he was still looking out to whomever was swimming to see if they would resurface.

The feel of the cold water surrounding her body, caused her to close her eyes a bit and the feel of the warm sun caused Jess to feel at peace right here in the water. All the worries that surrounded the area seemed to disappear and her whole body felt at complete ease and relaxation. A small sigh did escape her mouth as she knew she'd had to head home soon for she did have to work later tonight and would have to get ready. As much as she'd hate to go to work and leave this peaceful place she was at, she knew she'd have to.
Opening her eyes, Jess let her body go back down into the water and she herself dove under the water and swam closer to the shore. Once she was close enough, Jess came up back to the surface of the water and sighed once more as she walked out of the water and onto the sand. She let a small giggle came from her mouth as she felt the coolness of the sand go between her toes, shaking her head a bit, Jess grabbed her hair and ringed it, getting the extra water out of her hair.
Jess walked back over to her things and cursed a bit as she realized she didn't even bring a towel with her "d**nit." she muttered quietly to herself and sighed as she shrugged and looked back up to the sky, seeing the sun still shining brightly and decided she might as well just lay here and wait for the water to dry up, though with her body temperature, she was positive it would dry quickly. As she laid down near her clothing she stared up toward the sky for a moment then tilted her head back a bit more and glanced behind her, seeing someone just standing there and raised an eyebrow. She knew it wouldn't be a vampire and plus, they weren't sparkling either. She tried to scent the air, but the smell of the salt water was stronger than any other scent around her, this caused a small frown to crease to her lips.

With Leo's preternatural eye-sight, he could see that she was frowning...wait a second, it was a she. Leo had never seen this girl before. She must not have gone to Forks High. And she was very pretty from what Leo could tell. Leo was sure that if he had seen this girl before, he would have remembered her. But for some odd reason, he couldn't shake the feeling of seeing her before. Maybe in a different life...
The song on his I-Pod changed to "Stricken" by Disturbed. Strange mix he had on his I-Pod. As Leo looked over the girl from the distance, he tilted his head some. He had already ran 3 miles this morning and was winded. If she approached him, he could just say that he was trying to catch his breath. Which wasn't true at all, however it was the out that he could use.
It was still nice and sunny out. The sun was bright in the sky, even though a few clouds had started to form up in the sky. Still perfect running weather. Leo was thinking of finishing his run, but he was also thinking about going to talk to the girl. No guys where around her, what was there to lose? Well, humility for one. But hey, he was a lycan, not trying to win any cool points.

Jess laid there still staring upside down at the guy standing close near the beach. The frown stayed there on her lips for a moment but then let it disappear as she looked away and closed her eyes for a few minutes; he looked as if he was running and Jess could always go for a good run and it did feel as if her body was getting dried already from the water that was on her skin. Which meant, she'd be able to put on her clothes and venture off once more before she'd have to head back home.
Sighing a bit, Jess stood up and dusted off the sand that was on her back and made sure it was all off before she slipped on her shorts and hoodie and slipped her feet into her shoes. She grabbed up the hair tie and put her hair back up into a pony tail. Jess looked once more towards the boy still standing there and realized that she had never seen this one around before, mentally shrugging, she jogged a bit towards him, and put a smile to her lips, as she got closer, the scent of werewolf came to her nose; but she was sure he wasn't from around her. At least, to her knowledge, she didn't know of him.
When she reached him, Jess came to a stop and kept the smile to her face "Hey." she said softly "Are you from around here?" the words were out before she could even stop herself and felt a bit rude for even asking. She gave him an apologetic smile "Sorry, if that's personal or whatever, you don't have to answer it."

Leo ran a hand through his hair as she started to approach him. The closer the girl got, the better of a scent he got from her. Most of it was salt, from the water and that what was in the air, but finally he pin-pointed it. She was a lycan. Not just any lycan either, she was a werewolf as well. It was starting to make more and more sense now that she was starting to approach him.
He took one ear-bud of of his ear when she got close enough to talking distance. "Kind of, I am over in Forks, just thought I would go for a run and ended up way over here." He said with a smile on his face and shrugging. "What about you? I don't know what it is but I could have sworn that I've seen you before. Have you ever went to the resteraunt down 4th street in Forks?" He asked. Maybe thats where he had seen her before.
In any case, he felt his heart rate starting to drop. It was still beating above a humans capacity but for Leo, or rather his workout, that wasn't good. But it didn't matter, he was standing before someone that was absolutely gorgeous. Good thing he didn't get nervous that often.

Jess tilted her head a bit to the side at his words "I live here in La Push." she gave a small shrug then thought a little bit 4th street in Forks...ooh! as she thought to herself and a smile came to her lips "Yea, I've been there before." she thought a little bit more "Aren't you one of the waiter's there or something?" she asked curiously, Jess was positive she'd probably seen him there and when she took a glance at his hair, it seemed familiar.
For Jess, she wasn't all that great with names and faces together; if she was to meet someone once and see them again a few days later, she'd either forget their name but usually remember their face. But for her, when out doing her scans of the forest of La Push and Forks, it didn't matter whether a vampire had a name or not, just seeing what they look and smell like was all she needed and protect the towns around her.
Pushing the thought of vampires from her mind, because she really didn't want to think of them, Jess heard a rapid heartbeat within her ears, though she knew it wasn't her own and realized it was coming from the male before her he was just running.. she thought and pushed it aside.
